Inspirado en los pliegues, surcos y formas orgánicas de la montaña, este candelabro evoca la geografía como un acto escultórico. Cada linea y curva responde a la contemplación de los relieves naturales, reinterpretadnos en madera maciza trabajada de forma completamente artesanal.

El diseño nace de la observación de cómo el tiempo y los elementos esculpen la superficie terrestre. Las laderas erosionadas, las grietas en la roca y los sedimentos acumulados han sido traducidos en volúmenes y texturas que dialogan con la luz y la sombra. La intención es capturar ese instante donde la naturaleza parece inmóvil, pero guarda en sí el rastro de un proceso constante, casi invisible. Así, el candelabro se convierte en una pieza que celebra la lentitud y la permanencia.

La superficie ha sido cuidadosamente quemada mediante la técnica tradicional del «Yakisugi», resaltando las texturas y aportando una profundidad visual que emula la erosión y la sombra de las cimas al atardecer. Tras el quemado, se aplica un aceite natural protector, que sella y nutre la madera, realzando sus vetas y asegurando su durabilidad.Los orificios donde reposan las velas están rematados con insertos de latón pulido, que contrastan con la rugosidad carbonizada de la madera y añaden un detalle cálido y funcional, protegiendo la base del calor.

Esta mezcla de materiales nobles, madera y metal, crea un equilibrio entre lo orgánico y lo preciso, entre lo salvaje y lo hecho a mano.

Inspired by the folds, grooves, and organic shapes of the mountain, this chandelier evokes geography as a sculptural act. Each line and curve reflects the contemplation of natural reliefs, reinterpreted in solid wood crafted entirely by hand.

The design stems from observing how time and the elements sculpt the Earth’s surface. Eroded slopes, cracks in the rock, and accumulated sediment have been translated into volumes and textures that interact with light and shadow. The intention is to capture that moment when nature seems motionless, yet retains within it the trace of a constant, almost invisible process. Thus, the chandelier becomes a piece that celebrates slowness and permanence.

The surface has been carefully burned using the traditional «Yakisugi» technique, highlighting the textures and providing a visual depth that emulates the erosion and shadows of the peaks at sunset. After burning, a protective natural oil is applied, which seals and nourishes the wood, enhancing its grain and ensuring its durability.

The candle holders are finished with polished brass inserts, which contrast with the charred roughness of the wood and add a warm and functional detail, protecting the base from heat. This blend of noble materials, wood and metal, creates a balance between the organic and the precise, between the wild and the handmade.

Mendi is not just a candlestick, but a fragment of the interior landscape, an object that brings the memory of the earth to the center of the table.
